Don’t Take A Summer Vacation

June 26, 2014

After a long, harsh winter, the heat of summer is finally here. But whatever you do, don’t take a summer vacation… from your marketing plan!

It’s easy to fall into “vacation” mode, so try these tips to help you and your marketing stay focused this summer.

Take Some Time to Reflect – We’re a little over halfway through 2014, so now is the perfect time to look back at the first half of the year, reviewing what succeeded and what failed, as well as what parts of your plan didn’t get enough attention. This will allow you to make any necessary shifts in strategy to strengthen your plan for the rest of the year. Focusing on your successes and identifying new opportunities are great ways to stay motivated!

Tackle Something New – Summer may bring some down time in the office; use this time to work on those great ideas you’ve had that you just haven’t had time to execute. Maybe you’ve wanted to start an office newsletter or create a company blog – now’s the time to do it. Take time now to plan a schedule for the next few issues and posts to make sure your goals stay on track even when the season changes.

Thank Those That Matter Most – Summer can be a busy time with friends, families and vacations, but it’s also a great time to thank your customers and employees. Stand out from the holiday gift crowd by hosting a customer appreciation event now to build relationships and give your clients an opportunity to get out of the office, too. And while customers are critical to your success, employees are the front line of your brand. Take the time to thank them with a company event or consider summer perks like relaxing the dress code.
