Website Redesign
Is It Time to Redesign Your Website?
The way customers find businesses changed faster in the last two years than in the ten before it. If your website was built for a search results page that no longer looks the way it used to, a redesign isn’t vanity. It’s how you stay findable.
A Quick Self-Check
If two or more of these sound familiar, it’s worth a conversation.
✓ Customers say they “couldn’t find it” on your site
✓ You need a developer to change a headline
✓ It doesn’t clearly state your services and the areas you serve
✓ It looks dated next to your competitors
✓ You can’t remember the last time it produced a lead

Why Redesign Now?
Because AI Changed How Customers Find You
Search didn’t disappear. It moved. Your website now has to answer questions well enough for an AI tool to quote it, not just rank well enough for someone to click it.
People Ask, They Don’t Just Search
Instead of clicking through a list of links, people increasingly ask ChatGPT and other AI tools direct questions and get a summarized answer. If your site doesn’t answer the question clearly, you’re not in the summary.
AI Answers Sit Above the Links
Search results now open with an AI-generated answer before the traditional list of links. Structured, clearly written content, including real FAQ pages, is what those answers are built from.
SEO Isn’t Obsolete, It’s the Foundation
AI hasn’t replaced search engine optimization. The clarity, structure, and authority that help you rank are the same things that get you cited in AI answers.
We write about this constantly, because it’s changing how every website has to be built. Start with Why AI Is Changing Your Website, then see what we do about it on our AI Search Visibility page.
Beyond AI
Six Other Signs It’s Time
AI is the newest reason to redesign. These are the ones we hear every week.
It’s Slow, Especially on Phones
Most visitors arrive on a phone. A site that loads slowly or cramps on a small screen loses them before they read a word.
You Can’t Update It Yourself
If simple changes require your developer, your site goes stale between budget cycles. Proprietary platforms make this worse.
It Doesn’t Say What You Do, or Where
Visitors and search engines both need your services and the locations you serve stated plainly.
It Doesn’t Produce Leads
No clear next step, no working forms, no tracking. Traffic that never becomes a conversation.
The Content Is Years Old
Old services, old team, old claims. AI tools and customers both read your site as out of date.
It Isn’t Accessible
More than 1 in 4 U.S. adults has a disability, and for many organizations accessibility is now a legal requirement.
Own It This Time
Proprietary Platform or WordPress?
A redesign is the moment to fix who controls your website.
Proprietary Platforms
Your site lives on someone else’s system. Updates depend on them, features depend on their roadmap, and leaving means starting over.
WordPress
You own the site. Your team can make everyday updates, and the platform grows with you, from a brochure site to a 300-page store.
How a Redesign Works
From Decision to Launch
Six steps, one team, and no handoff to a stranger when it’s done.
01
Start With Strategy
What the new site must accomplish, who it’s for, and how we’ll know it worked, before anyone opens a design file.
02
Content & Search Plan
The pages you need, what each says, the questions it answers, and the searches and AI prompts it should show up for.
03
Design & Build
A custom design on WordPress, planned for phones, with the e-commerce, forms, and integrations your business runs on.
04
Migrate Without Losing Ground
Content moved carefully and redirects mapped so the rankings and links you’ve earned come with you.
05
Launch, Host & Maintain
We host it, maintain it, and keep improving it, so the new site doesn’t become the old site.
06
Measure What Changed
GA4 reporting on traffic, leads, and behavior, so the redesign is accountable after launch.

Website Redesign FAQs
Questions We Hear Most
How do I know it’s time to redesign my website?
Common signs: it’s slow on phones, you need a developer for simple updates, it doesn’t clearly state your services and the areas you serve, it doesn’t produce leads, the content is years out of date, or it isn’t accessible.
How does AI change what my website needs?
People increasingly ask AI tools direct questions instead of clicking through search results, and search results now open with AI-generated answers. Those answers are built from clear, structured content, including real FAQ pages, so a site that doesn’t answer questions plainly gets left out.
Will a redesign hurt my search rankings?
It doesn’t have to. We plan the content and map redirects as part of the migration, so the rankings and links you’ve earned carry over. We migrated Lupine North America’s 300 product pages to WordPress this way.
What platform will my new site be built on?
WordPress, with WooCommerce for online stores. You own the site, and your team can make everyday updates without a developer, which is the main drawback of proprietary platforms.
Can we keep our existing content and images?
Yes, where it still serves you. We review what you have, keep what works, rewrite what’s out of date, and shoot new photography when the old images don’t represent you anymore.
