Take Time This Holiday

December 9, 2013

December is a busy time with personal and organizational business battling for your attention.

Between family gatherings, corporate parties and tying up yearend business, it can be a manic, though joyous, time of year. Leave the hustle and bustle behind and take some time to see how the best parts of the holidays can help your organization gain a new perspective.

It’s a time to spend with those closest to you. Just as you spend the holidays with friends and family, it’s important to spend time with those who most influence your business’s success. Investing time in the customers who are most engaged with your organization, whether in person or through social media, can offer big returns. Truly engaging with your customers and clients can deliver invaluable feedback, new referrals and additional sales.

It’s a time for reflection. Just as you look back on the highs and lows of the year in your own life, yearend is a great time for reviewing what has worked and what hasn’t for your business. You may quickly tire of the nearly endless annual best and worst lists published at this time of year, but boiling the year down to bullet points can be a great way to take a critical look at different aspects of your business. How did 2013 compare to previous years? What trends did you see emerging? What are the top 5 achievements and top 5 disappointments of the year?

It’s a time to celebrate. Even if the year was challenging for your organization, it’s important to celebrate the successes you did have. Finding the silver lining in difficult times allows you to see the positive aspects of your current situation and can help you refocus your efforts moving into the New Year. It’s great to learn from your mistakes, but it feels even better to celebrate your successes!

We hope you are able to take time this holiday to reflect, celebrate and spend time with those closest to you. Best wishes for a happy holiday season and a prosperous New Year from the Fresh Creative team!
